Tyler gives Daddy raspberries!!

May 16th &17th, 2008

On Friday, mommy took the day off work to go to her ultrasound and relax by having a prenatal massage that daddy bought her for her birthday. Mommy took grandpa to the ultrasound appointment because daddy couldn't go. He was a proud grandpa as we watched our little bambino move around for a half hour. Unfortunately, the baby is still breech at 33 weeks, but he weighs 4lbs 1oz now! At least the 6lbs mommy gained in the past three weeks went somewhere other than her thighs! Below are some pictures of his cute little face.

On Saturday, Emily, Auntie Melanie, Auntie Karen, and Auntie Gail threw mommy a lovely baby shower. The bambino is now almost ready to make his big entrance into the world soon. There are a couple pictures from the wonderful shower below.

Today at our normal prenatal check-up we were lucky enough to get another chance to see our cute lil guy, and we thought we would share the pictures with you! As you can see by the picture in the top right corner, he looks just like his dad! (says his dad!) In the bottom left is a profile of his head with his mouth closed.

He is getting so much bigger but not big enough that he can still kick like crazy (especially since he is still breech)! He now weighs 2lbs 14oz! We go for our next ultrasound on May 16th to measure his growth rate and ensure he is still on track. Mommy's tachycardia has her on a beta blocker which hinders the baby's growth in the third trimester. However, mommy has to stay on the medicine or it will cause the baby's heart rate to rise as well. So far all is good though!

The Droutsas baby will be a BOY!!!!

We had our big ultrasound today where they were able to get a good look at the baby and measure every body part on him. He was very active for the entire hour of the ultrasound, making it quite difficult to get all the pictures they needed. He was kicking, punching, and even doing somersaults! The person doing the ultrasound said it was the most active baby she's seen in awhile! Our baby boy even peed during the ultrasound, which was a first for the person conducting the ultrasound. It was quite amazing to see!

We'll let you know the baby's name when we expect to deliver him in early July (but yes, it is picked out, but no, we won't share!).

This is a very exciting and special day for us and we wanted our family and friends to share in it with us. Enjoy the pictures below!

Happy 2008!

We both wanted to send our love and we hope you had a wonderful holiday and wish you a happy new year.

You may or may not be surprised by our news, but Candace has just entered her second trimester of pregnancy! We are expecting our first child in early July! (Perfect timing for a teacher!) We are both extremely excited and look forward to our next doctor appointment in a month when we find out what we're having (yes, we're finding out...after all, we're the two worst at surprises!)
