Tyler's First Week!

I had a great first week! After being born a month early on Monday June 9th, I was able to come home with mommy and daddy on Thursday! I could have come home earlier because I was just perfect and healthy, but the hospital has a minimum stay for preemies of 72 hours.

I have enjoyed being at home a lot! I love to swing in my swing, drink a lot of milk, make lotsa poopie diapers, pee on daddy, and play with my hands! My bubbie and grandpa have been helping out my mommy and daddy a lot and my nana and popoulli have already come over a few times to visit me. I love when my grandparents come to see me! They even fight to change my diapers!

I miss my grandmommy who came to visit while I was in the hospital, but hopefully she'll come back soon to visit.

I also met two of my three great grandmas - Elaine and Shirley. I hope to meet my other great grandma soon!

One of my other favorite things to do is go on the webcam and see my Auntie Mel Mel. I can't wait for her to come in a couple weeks to meet her and stay with me for two weeks! I already met my Uncle Brian and numerous other family and friends.

I'm one lucky boy! Everyone says I am super cute and can't get over how small I am. Thanks for taking the adorable pictures of me, Grandpa!

Tyler Benjamin is Here!

Yesterday, June 9th at 1:03PM I came into this wonderful world through a perfect c-section. Although I am small (I only weigh 4lbs 15.6oz) I am perfect and healthy! Obviously, I am overwhelmed in all the lights and noise outside my mommy's womb so I am trying to just eat and sleep for now. When I am more active, I will be sure to have mom and dad take more pictures to share with the world. For now, you can see a few beautiful pictures from my big day yesterday (I especially love the one of my first cuddle with my mommy!)

Baby Boy Is Coming Early

Yesterday mommy took the day off to attend three different doctor appointments: a level II ultrasound, a non-stress test, and meeting with her doctor. During the ultrasound, mommy could tell something wasn't right because the ultrasound technician wasn't giving any information up. Since this was the fourth time mommy's gotten to see me on the machine, she was used to them telling her what my weight has been and what my fluid levels were. The only thing they told my mommy was that I was still breech! I guess I'm just scared of a normal delivery and want to come out looking beautiful to the world!

After that we went up to take the non-stress test. The non-stress test went great - my heart rate was steady and my movements were great. But during the non-stress, mommy's doctor came in - mommy knew immediately this couldn't be a good sign. She told mommy that radiology had called her and told her that the baby's growth percentile has dropped again and that he is getting low on amniotic fluid. Mommy's doctor then called a perinatologist (high risk doctor) to see if my lungs would be developed enough and if I would need to be delivered at a hospital with a NICU. The perinatologist assured mommy that this was the best time to have me and at the latest it would be one week from today before I make my appearance and that I wouldn't need to go to a NICU or a special hospital.

Mommy and Daddy will go back to the hospital on Saturday morning to see if it's time. They'll go back everyday until Thursday at the latest to see when I should come out. So anyday between now and Thursday I could come! I can't wait to meet my parents and all my family and friends I already have!
