Saturday and Sunday was spent with family as we celebrated Mother's Day twice! On Saturday, Tyler's Nana, Papu, and G.G. came over for the afternoon/evening. Tyler's great grandma Shirley came up from San Diego to spend some time with Tyler. Tyler really enjoyed throwing the ball to her that she brought for him. He also loved to hit the ball with his toy bat!
We spent the afternoon in our beautiful backyard watching Tyler run around and play with all his toys. Of course his favorite thing to do is play with the "big football" with the big boys - Daddy and Papu!
While we were preparing dinner, Tyler and G.G. watched an entire episode of Sesame Street! We then had a delicious meal of barbecued steak, baked potatoes, corn, veggies, salad, garlic cheese bread and then some strawberry and lemon meringue pie for dessert. There was soooo much food, Alan and I thought we were going to burst! The highlight of Tyler's evening was helping Papu blow out his birthday candles since his birthday is on Wednesday. Tyler did an amazing job!
On Sunday, we spent the day with my family. We went to my favorite place when I'm pregnant for breakfast - IHOP! Then we ran a couple errands and went over to Tyler's Great Bubbie's house for some family fun. Tyler's Aunt Karen, Uncle Stuart, Aunt Gail, cousins Shaina, Marissa, and Talia, and of course Bubbie and Da were there to celebrate. Tyler loved playing with his cousins and they followed him around like an entourage. It was too cute to watch! We had a great day and weekend of family fun!

As you can see from the pictures, Tyler has some stitches on his forehead. Anyone who's ever met Tyler is surprised it took him this long to acquire stitches for the first time. On Thursday my dad was making him lunch when out of the corner of his eye he saw Tyler running with his head down and saw him bounce back off the door frame to the bathroom. Tyler was trying to keep Boo Boo away because Tyler HATES when Boo Boo is about to go into any of the rooms, other than the living room or up the stairs. He tells her, "No Boo Boo!" quite emphatically. After not getting a hold of me, my dad called Alan to tell him that he was going to call the doctor to see if the gash needed to be seen by a doctor for possible stitches. The doctor told him to take Tyler to the ER as it sounded like it was going to need stitches. The doctor at the ER said he was going to need stitches. Tyler was a trooper! He really wasn't upset or crying about the cut, but instead all of the little things he didn't want to be bothered with - oxygen meter on his finger, being put into a straight jacket thing for the doctor to close the wound, the bandage that was going on his forehead, etc. My dad did an amazing job - I wouldn't have been nearly as calm and as my dad and Alan say, I would have "babied" him and made things worse by making Tyler more nervous. When I got home from work a couple hours later, my little man was running around the house, playing like nothing had ever happened. He is such a brave boy who rarely cries!
